LEXINGTON, Virginia -- Ferrum College entered seven wrestlers in the Jim Crytzer Memorial Tournament, held Saturday, January 4, at Washington and Lee University.
JIM CRYTZER
The event is named in memory of Jim Crytzer, a 1977 W&L graduate, who grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. One of the most successful wrestlers in Washington and Lee wrestling history, Crytzer was a four-year letterwinner and two-year captain for the Generals, earning W&L's Outstanding Rookie award in 1974 as well as Outstanding Wrestler in 1975, 1976 and 1977. He graduated as W&L's all-time wins leader with a 65-33-5 overall record. Crytzer was a three-time conference champion and wrestled in the NCAA Championships in 1975, 1976 and 1977. Crytzer passed in November 2014 at the age of 59.
