FERRUM, Virginia – Ferrum College's women's basketball team picked up an Old Dominion Athletic Conference win tonight, defeating Lynchburg 61-42. Both teams got off to an icy start with the first basket of the game coming just over three minutes after tip-off when Junior
Allyson Cassell took it to the basket for two. The Panthers shot 56% from the field in the second quarter building a twelve point lead at the intermission.

Zy'Breayziah Alexander had a solid game scoring nine points off the bench and leading the Panthers in rebounds with nine.
After an even third quarter, the Panthers were able to extend their lead in the fourth, shooting 46% from the field and going a perfect 5-5 from the charity stripe. Lynchburg was never able to get closer than 10 points down the stretch. They were led by Kate Littlejohns 10 points. Ferrum played a solid defensive game, forcing 19 Hornet turnovers.
