BLUEFIELD, Va. -- Ferrum College's men's golf team posted its best result of the year with today's fifth-place finish in a field of 17 teams at the Bluefield State Men's Intercollegiate, played Monday and Tuesday, October 20-21, at Fincastle.

Glenville State's Hector Arriaga earned medalist hinors after carding an even par 210 over three rounds. Justin Doerr of West Liberty was second at 212, while Alexander Hambleton of host Bluefield State and Colby Brent of Fairmont State tied for third at 214. Christopher Baguma of Virginia State rounded out the top five with a 216.
Ferrum's top golfer was
Tiaan Diedericks, who tied for 23rd in a field of 96 golfers with a 226.
Brandon Jones was a stroke behind Diedericks, finishing 25th at 227.
