SALEM, Virginia – Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's basketball contest at Roanoke College, falling 63-57 tonight at the Cregger Center.

THE BASICS
Ferrum and Roanoke came into the game in a three-way tie for fifth place in the ODAC standings. The Maroons jumped out to an early eight-point lead as Ferrum struggled shooting early.
Asya Williams hit a three pointer with 1:28 left that started a 7-0 run to end the first quarter with the Maroons out in front, 13-12 lead.
The second quarter saw both teams trade baskets back and forth. Kliauna Riddick's old fashioned three-point play with four seconds remaining in the half gave the Panthers the 29-28 lead at the break.
The Maroons caught fire after intermission, nailing six shots from behind the arc in the third quarter to take a 13-point advantage in to the fourth.
Ferrum would not go quietly in the fourth quarter.
Aisha Martin's jumper with 50 seconds left in regulation cut the lead to 60-57, but Roanoke used three free throws in the finals seconds of the game to put it away.
