ASHLAND, Virginia -- Ferrum College's men's tennis team earned an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win Saturday, March 22, over Randolph-Macon College, winning 5-2 at Banks Tennis Courts. The win was Ferrum's first ever over Randolph-Macon in the past 15 years, and the first over the Yellow Jackets in ODAC play.

THE BASICS
Gabriel Alvarez and Tripoom Jala won 6-3 at #1 doubles over RMC's Drew Crotts and Cameron Jennings. 2. Emilio Munguia and Austin Brigman needed a tiebreaker to get past Evan Holzmacher Winston Chapman 7-6 (7-3) at #2 doubles to give Ferrum a 1-0 lead headed into singles play.

Munguia's 6-3, 7-6 (9-7) win over Crotts at #1 singles clinched the match for Ferrum. Also winning in singles for the Panthers were Jala and Alvarez in the #2 and #3 spots, respectfully, as well as Aukeim Mitchell at #6 singles. Mitchell's tiebreaker in the second set gave him a 6-3, 1-0 (10-7) over RMC's Harris Wadsworth. It was Mitchell's second win in as many matches.
