LYNCHBURG, Virginia -- Ferrum College picked up an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) doubleheader softball sweep over Randolph College, winning the opener 4-0 and the nightcap 6-0 this afternoon at WildCat Stadium.

GAME 1
Emily Hopper's sac fly to right field in the second inning of the opener put Ferrum on top 1-0.
Emily Wood then drilled an RBI double to right center with the bases loaded to drive in the final three runs of the game. Wood (6-5) pitched a complete seven-inning game to record her sixth win of the season, allowing three hits, no runs and one walk, with four strikeouts.
GAME 2
The Panthers struck first with four runs in the top of the fourth inning of game two, two each on RBI singles by
Autumn McMillen and
Nicole Emerson.
Riley Young's RBI double to center in the fifth inning drove in another run, then the Panthers picked up a run in the sixth when
Sophia Peters reached on an error and
Nicole Emerson scampered home. Starter
Amber Greiner (3-6) earned the win, scattering seven hits over 6.1 innings with two walks and a pair of strikeouts.
Kaylee Hughes went 3-4 at the plate and scored a run, while
Mirenda Shields went 2-4 with a double and a run.

Coach Joshua Freeman's team will be back in action Tuesday, April 8, at Guilford College. The ODAC doubleheader is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start at Hawthorn Field in Greensboro, North Carolina.
