Wagner's induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame took place on Sunday, July 29, in Cooperstown, New York. Many Ferrum friends and teammates were on hand for the ceremony, including Wagner's coach, Abe Naff, and Ferrum College President, Dr. Mirta Martin.

Wagner is the only NCAA Division III baseball player to ever be enshrined in Cooperstown. His #13 jersey also hangs in center field at Ferrum's home baseball facility, Panther Field, along with four other jersey numbers.
