Shaw drew first blood, with Abigail Harrison scoring just 13 seconds into the game, and the unassisted goal held through halftime.

Breanna Herlihy scored Ferrum's lone goal in the 56th minute of play when she took a pass from Alondra Vera and beat backup goalkeeper Kadence Miller to help salvage the tie.
