FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College's women's soccer team hosted Southern Virginia University in non-conference action, tying 1-1 at Penn-Roediger Field.

THE BASICS
Amber Nichole Gillen spotted Ferrum the early lead with an unassisted goal in the 21st minute of play. Each team had limited scoring opportunities in the first half, and the Panther 1-0 lead held through the break.

Southern Virginia went on the attack in the second half, using a 13-0 shot advantage, finally scoring on a penalty kick with less than seven minutes remaining in the game.
