FERRUM, Va. -- Josiah Canales Maldonado (133 lbs), Robert Owens Jr. (165) and Braeden Fluke (285) all registered falls to lead Ferrum College to a 31-10 Conference Carolinas wrestling win over Coker University tonight at Swartz Gym.

SENIOR NIGHT
Prior to the match, the Panthers held a Senior Night ceremony for graduating wrestlers Braeden Fluke, Noah Harris, Jake Knight, William Melton and Hunter Thompson. 

THE BASICS
The match started at 141 pounds, where Coker's Daiyan Heard picked up a major decision to spot the Cobras a 3-0 lead. Cameron Curva (149 lbs) earned a tough 12-7 decision, and Andres Cortes (157) picked up a 4-2 win to put Ferrum in front 6-4.

Owens trailed 7-1 early, but rallied to post a fall over Coker's Matthew Williams in a time of 6:04, and Hunter Thompson (174) followed with a major decision to extend the lead to 16-4. Joseph Toner (184) rallied to score a takedown in the waning seconds of his match to pull out a 5-4 decision and widen the gap to 19-4. 

Coker's Brody Switzer posted a decision at 197 pounds to trim the lead to 19-7. Fluke (285) then put it out of reach with a fall over Hunter Miller at the 3:41 mark. Mason Moody earned a decision at 125 pounds for the Cobras. final points, the Josiah Canales Maldonado (133) wrapped things up with a fall over Darren Haney at 2:54.
