EMORY, Va. -- Ferrum College dropped both ends of a non-conference softball doubleheader with Emory & Henry University today on the road, falling 5-4 in the opener in eight innings then losing 12-6 in the nightcap.

GAME ONE
Abigail Street has a solo homer to spot Emory & Henry the early lead after one inning. Ferrum scored three runs in the second inning, including two on
Hannah Hooper's two-run blast, to put the Panthers on top 3-1. Emory & Henry picked up a run in the third and one in the fourth to tie the game at 3-3.
Zoey Snead scored on a wild pitch in the top of the eighth inning to put Ferrum in position to win the game, but E&H's Kylie Cundiff had a walk-off double to left center to drive in two runs for the win.

GAME TWO
Ferrum led 3-0 in the second inning, but Emory & Henry scored four in the bottom of the frame, then added a run in the fourth to take a 5-3 lead. The Panthers picked up three more runs in the fourth to grab a 6-5 lead, only to see the Wasps explode for seven runs in the fifth inning to win going away.

Coach Josh Freeman's team will be back in action Saturday and Sunday, February 21-22, with four non-conference games in Wise, Virginia. Ferrum will take on host UVA Wise Saturday at 2:00 p.m., then face Virginia State University at 4:00 p.m. On Sunday, the Panthers play Virginia State at noon and UVA Wise at 4:00 p.m.
