MURFREESBORO, N.C. -- Ferrum College split a Conference Carolinas baseball doubleheader today at Chowan University, losing the opener 11-5 before taking the nightcap 13-7 at Hawkins Field.

GAME ONE
Ferrum picked up three runs in the first inning and two in the third to open a 5-1 lead, but Chowan exploded for 10 runs in the sixth inning to break it open.

Ferrum got a run each in the first, second, and fourth innings, trailing 5-3 after four full innings. The Panthers erupted for eight runs in the fifth inning, including three runs on
Eli Elliott's RBI double to left field and two on
CJ Kemmerer's RBI single to right field. Ferrum then added a run each in the seventh and eighth innings before the game was called due to darkness.
