FARMVILLE, Va. -- Bianca Solorzano won at #1 singles as Ferrum College's women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match at NCAA Division I Longwood University, falling 6-1 at New Lancer Courts.

THE BASICS
Longwood took the doubles point with wins at #1 and #2, along with a forfeit in the #3 spot. The Lancers then got forfeits at #5-6 singles, and won in straight sets at #2-4 singles. 

Making her debut for the Panthers, Solorzano beat Oriana Izarra at #1 singles in the three sets. Solorzano took the opening set 6-4, only to have Izarra return the favor by winning the second set 6-4. The two then played a 10-point tiebreaker for the third set, with Solorzano outlasting her opponent 11-9 in a thrilling match.
