LEXINGTON, VA – Ferrum opened competition at the VMI Winter Relays on Friday with a strong Day One showing, highlighted by personal bests, season bests, and a podium finish in the field events. The Panthers were led by freshman
Zenallah Hatcher-Simmons, who secured a second-place finish in the women's shot put, while the sprint group produced multiple qualifiers and PRs in the 60 meters. Ferrum also saw solid performances across the long jump, hurdles, and multi-events, setting a positive tone heading into the final day of competition. Hatcher-Simmons shot put throw currently ranks her as second best in Conference Carolinas.

- Zenallah Hatcher-Simmons earned a second-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 13.21m (43-4.25), scoring eight team points.
- Camille Vaughn ran 8.06 in the 60m prelims.
- Zyreonia Patterson recorded a personal best 8.27 in the 60m and a season-best 5.07m (16-7.75) in the long jump.
- Dezyre Christian posted a personal-best 8.39 in the 60m and a season-best 4.74m (15-6.75) in the long jump.
- Nadiyah Abdussalaam completed the indoor pentathlon with a PR 9.27m (30-5.00) in the shot put, a 1.37m (4-6.00) high jump, and strong efforts in the 60m hurdles and 800m.
- Emma Kelley recorded a 4.22m (13-10.25) jump in the long jump.
- Shaniyah Menefee threw 8.84m (29-0.00) in the shot put.
