of game two to earn a Conference Carolinas baseball twinbill split Saturday afternoon at
Panther Field.

GAME ONE
Ferrum used a strong start on the mound from
Jai Penn, holding the Crusaders off the
board into the sixth inning and clinging to a one-run advantage, but back-to-back hits
chased the Panther starter and set up a three-run long ball to break open game one for
the visitors. Things held suit the rest of the way for both teams as Belmont Abbey hung
on for the win.

GAME TWO
Both teams found success on offense through the contest, both being able to put
together frames of four runs each. A back-and-forth effort saw the visitors claim the lead
with a two-run second and another in the third. Ferrum responded with a run of their
own in the home-half of the third and then the Panther's four-run frame coming just an
inning later. The Crusaders came right back with their four-run frame in the fifth while
adding another in the sixth to reclaim the advantage.
The Panthers had the last say, though, as a walk and an infield bunt single in the home-
half of the final frame had the Panthers threatening just trailing by one. A sacrifice bunt
from the bat of Kemmerer moved the runners into scoring position before a wild pitch
brought
Hunter Carlson around to score. Graham put the exclamation point on the
evening with an infield single down the third base line just a batter later scoring Tyler
Mason and walking off the Crusaders in dramatic fashion to earn the split.
