GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Ferrum College picked up its second USA South doubleheader sweep of the season, this time over Greensboro College on the road. The Panther women opened the night with a 58-54 win, then the men followed with a 58-51 come-from-behind win in which they scored the last 17 points of the game.

Freshman Brittney Bullock led the way for the Ferrum women with 16 points and 14 rebounds, both career-highs. Junior Miranda Carrasco had 13 points and four assists, and sophomore Tonya Wright had 10 rebounds to go with seven points.
Ferrum (7-6, 5-1 USA South) opened the game with a 6-1 run, but Greensboro responded with a 22-9 run to claim a 23-15 lead with just under seven minutes left in the first half. Ferrum answered that with a 16-2 run to close out the first half and take a 31-25 lead into the locker room.
Coach
Bryan Harvey's team never trailed in the second half, despite Greensboro trimming the lead to one point on two occasions.
Greensboro (7-5, 4-1) was led by Danielle Duncan, who had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Dione Eccles had 11 points and six rebounds for the Pride. Greensboro out-rebounded Ferrum 44-41.
In the men's game, Ferrum trailed most of the game. Coach Bill Tharp's team found themselves on the losing end of a 51-41 score with 6:07 remaining in the game, only to get hot down the stretch and close with a 17-0 run for the 58-51 win.
Senior
Jon Godsey had eight of Ferrum's last 17 points, including the go-ahead basket, a 3-pointer with 2:18 remaining for a 54-51 lead. Godsey closed with 13 points.
Sophomore
Keith Crump led the team with 18 points on 6-12 shooting from the floor. Crump, who also had seven rebounds and a steal, is averaging 13.1 points per game this season after averaging just 2.3 PPG as a freshman. Freshman
Derek Mitchell had 16 points and 12 rebounds, his eighth double-double of the season. Mitchell is averaging 12.2 points and 9.3 rebounds per game this season.
Greensboro (7-9, 1-2) was led by Adam Nicholson's 17 points. He was the only member of the Pride in double digit scoring. Greensboro led 28-24 at the break and closed out the game with a 37-33 edge in rebounding.
Ferrum returns to action this weekend when it hosts Christopher Newport University Saturday Jan. 26 and Shenandoah University Sunday Jan. 27 in a pair of USA South doubleheaders. The women's games tip off at 2 p.m. both days, and will be followed immediately by the men.
