LEXINGTON, Va. -- Ferrum College suffered an 84-65 non-conference men's basketball setback to Washington and Lee University this afternoon on the road.
The Generals jumped out to a 14-4 lead early in the game before leading by 12 at the break, 45-33.
Marcus Mayo, who earlier in the week topped the 1000-point career scoring mark, led the Panthers today with 17 points on 5-of-15 shooting.
Daryl Hart scored 12 points, while
Lamont King added nine points and seven rebounds. Washington and Lee (10-7) led the Generals with 14 points. Javon McDonald and J.D. Ey had 13 and 12 points, respectively. W&L out-rebounded Ferrum 36-30.
Ferrum (9-8) returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at home against North Carolina Wsleyan College. The USA South contest gets underway at 7:30 p.m. at Swartz Gym.
