Daryl Hart had 20 points and
Lamont King had 19 as Ferrum College earned a 77-63 USA South Athletic Conference men's basketball win over Shenandoah University tonight at Swartz Gymnasium.
The Panthers led 43-32 at the break and never looked back. Ferrum opened its largest lead of the night (21 points) after
Jamal Pullen drained a pair of jumpers to put the Panthers on top 72-51 with just over four minutes left to play.
Shenandoah (4-17, 2-6 USA South) closed the gap with a 12-5 run to close the game but it wasn't enough as Ferrum won its fifth league outing. Avery Green led the Hornets with 15 points, while Ross Heyl had 12 and Xavier Alston had nine.Â
Marcus Mayo had seven assists and five rebounds to go with 14 points, and Pullen finished with 10 points.   Ferrum out-rebounded Shenandoah 29-22.
Ferrum (12-8, 5-3 USA South) returns to action Friday, Feb. 3, at Averett University. The USA South matchup gets underway at 7 p.m. at Averett's Grant Center in Danville, Virginia.
