FERRUM, Va. -- The Ferrum College men's basketball team opens the 2012-13 season tonight at the Eastern Mennonite University Tip-Off Tournament in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Coach Bill Tharp's team will face Bridgewater College tonight at 6 p.m. The Panthers then take on host Eastern Mennonite Saturday at 4 p.m.
Ferrum will be led by a group of five seniors this season;
Shon Goode,
Marshall Hamilton,
Lamont King,
Donte Thomas and
Charles Warren. King was an All-Conference second team selection last season after averaging 12.7 points and a team-high 7.0 rebounds per game.
Also back are sophomores
Jamal Pullen and
Alan White. Newcomers this season include junior
Brian Clarke and a cast of 11 freshmen.
Full Roster
A 1996 West Point graduate, Tharp is now in his ninth year at the helm of the Ferrum men's basketball program. Rob Fuller is back as Tharp's assistant coach, with Ryan Firebaugh serving as a volunteer assistant coach. Both coaches played for Tharp.
