FERRUM, Va. -- Alex Graves led Lynchburg College with 15 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots in an 84-64 non-conference men's basketball win over Ferrum College this afternoon at Swartz Gym. Graves was one of four Hornets in double-digit scoring.
Ferrum led 9-5 early on, only to see Lynchburg come roaring back with an 11-0 run over a four-minute stretch en route to a 22-point halftime lead. Zack Burnett, Daniel Rowe and Austen Arnold had 14 points each for the Hornets.
Rashawn Speas had 17 points for Ferrum, while
Alek Ayer had 14 points. Lynchburg (4-0) won the battle of the boards, 40-24, and shot 58% from the floor to Ferrum's 39%.
Ferrum (3-2) returns to action Sunday, Nov. 30, at Ranolph College. The non-conference game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 p.m. in Lynchburg, Virginia. Coach Bill Tharp's team will then entertain Emory & Henry College Wednesday, Dec. 3, in a non-conference game at 7:00 p.m. in Swartz Gym.
