Ferrum Men Beat Peace 70-65 on the Road

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Marvin Wilson and Alek Ayer had 13 points each to lead Ferrum College to a 70-65 USA South men's basketball road win over William Peace University tonight at the Hermann Athletic Center.

How It Happened
The two teams played evenly in the first half with the Panthers clinging to a 17-15 lead at the 6:20 mark. Ferrum went on a 16-0 run that started with a Marvin Wilson three-pointer and ended with a Wilson layup at 1:12 to make it a 33-15 game. Wilson hit a three-pointer with 17:22 left in the second half to give the Panthers their largest lead at 42-22. The Pacers battled back to get within a point at 66-65 on Sam Johnson's three-pointer with 11 seconds left in regulation. Wilson and Ayer each knocked down two free throws in the waning seconds to seal the win.
