FERRUM, Va. -- Virginia Wesleyan University used a late 16-7 run to post a 77-75 Old Dominion Athletic Conference men's basketball comeback win over Ferrum College this afternoon at Swartz Gym.

THE BASICS
All five starters scored in double figures for the Marlins, led by R.J. Nicholson's 17 points. Virginia Wesleyan led 39-32 at the break, but Ferrum clawed back to take a 63-60 lead on RJ Turner's jumper with 6:08 left to play. Marcus Huff then drilled a three-pointer with 4:47 left to give Ferruim its last lead at 66-63.
The Marlins tied the game at 66-66 22 seconds later on R.J. Nicholson's three-pointer, then got jumpers from Tyree Gholson and Tim Fisher to go out in front 70-66 with 2:32 left in regulation. Gholson would later convert a pair of free throws with 21 seconds left to expand the Marlins' lead to 76-70. Huff hit a three-pointer with six seconds left to trim the lead to 76-73, but Gholson made it a two-possession game when he made one of two free throws with 0:03 showing on the clock. Turner finished the game with a layup at the buzzer for the final score.
