THE BASICS
The Panthers jumped out to the early lead in this one, starting the game on a 10-3 run. Kajuan Madden-McAfee knocked down a pair of treys to help jumpstart the Ferrum offense. Ferrum would use another quick 7-0 run through the 10 minute mark in the opening stanza to take full control of the half. The Panthers would head into the halftime break holding on to a 40-30 advantage.

The scoring came at a balance for Ferrum in the first half, with nobody in double-figures. Rashad Reed led the way with eight points and Kalip Jones was close behind with seven points of his own. Madden-McAfee had the two trey to start the game and collected five rebounds throughout the half. Marcus Plair had a productive half as well, recording three points and five boards. For the Hornets, Zach Garrett got off to the hot start with nine points in the half to add to his two rebounds and two assists. Jalen Hill played some big minutes off the bench, recording eight points.

Shenandoah would open the second half on a 10-3 run behind a strong effort from Ethan Diffee, who had six of the 10. The Panthers would weather the storm though, never allowing Shenandoah a glimpse of the lead. Rashad Reed would hit a trey with 2:26 remaining to push the lead back up to seven and shut the door on the Hornets.

The Hornets had three scorers in double-figures in the closing stanza. Avery White added five rebounds to his 10 points and Diffee was 6-8 from the charity stripe on the way to his 10 points. Hill again came up big off the bench for Shenandoah, recording 10 points as well. For the Panthers, it was the Rashad Reed show in the second half.
