FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina -- Darius Kemps' third straight double-double and three other players scoring in double digits lifted Ferrum College to a 76-72 non-conference men's basketball road win over Methodist University this afternoon at the March F. Riddle Center.

THE BASICS
Methodist jumped out to an early 11-3 lead through the first four and a half minutes of play. Ferrum fought back to take their first lead of the game 17-15, with just over twelve minutes to play in the first half. The Monarchs would finish the half strong, outscoring the Panthers 11-5. Taking a 36-30 lead into the break.
In the second half, Methodist held onto its lead until midway point of the half. Ferrum grabbed a 50-40 lead on Michael Spraggins' layup and free throw at the 11:57 mark. The Panthers outscored the Monarchs 25-8 over the next few minutes, expanding the lead to 72-57 with 2:08 left to play.
Methodist staged a furious 15-4 lead in the final two minutes of play, but fell short. Kevin McLaughlin scored eight of his 16 points for Methodist in the final two minutes of regulation. Kajuan Madden-McAfee scored Ferrum's final four points from the charity stripe.
