Panther Men Fall Victim to Last Second Miracle

FERRUM, Virginia -- The Ferrum College men's basketball team dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match up to the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan University Sunday evening inside of Swartz Gymnasium, 84-83. The Panthers took a 2-point lead with just :4.0 left off of a Kajuan Madden-McAfee trey, but Jordan White would answer right back with a turnaround, fade-away three off of the glass at the buzzer to stun the Panthers.

THE BASICS
The Panthers jumped out to a 7-2 lead to start the game, but Virginia Wesleyan would answer with of 7-2 run of their own to even the score at 9-9. Ferrum would then create some space and play most of the first half with the advantage. A Madden-McAfee trey with 2:35 put the Panthers up 13, the largest lead of the game, but the Marlins would end the half on a 7-1 run to close the gap to 38-31 at the midway break.

Virginia Wesleyan would come out in the closing stanza and quickly take a 2-point lead off of a 9-0 run, and a 20-2 run overall spanning the first 4:18 of the second half. The Panthers would then reclaim the lead with a 12-2 run off of a Jamar Butler three with 11:41 to play. Ferrum would push the advantage to as much as seven in the second half, but the Marlins would stay within striking distance throughout the rest of the half. The Panthers took a 2-point lead with just :4.0 left off of a Kajuan Madden-McAfee trey, but Jordan White would answer right back with a turnaround, fade-away three off of the glass at the buzzer to stun the Panthers.
