The Panthers used an 18-2 run to close out the half over the next six minutes, with Spraggins tallying nine of his 15 first-half points during the run.

Drummond hit a jumper to put a halt to the run, scoring Ferrum's only four points six minutes into the second-half. Three straight three-pointers for the Hornets and a Dow Dunton layup pulled them with one, 55-54 with 4:42 left to play in the game. James Smith Jr. converted a layup with 1:42 left and would be the Panthers' final points of the game. Suggs hit a jumper to pull within two, 62-60.
