LYNCHBURG, Virginia -- Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's basketball game tonight at University of Lynchburg, falling 73-68 at Turner Gymnasium.

THE BASICS
Ferrum jumped out in front 10-2 three and a half minutes into the game on a pair of Michael Spraggins three-pointers and two layups by James Smith Jr.

The Hornets used a 17-9 run over the next eight minutes to tie the game, 19-19, at the 8:46 mark. Ferrum then used a 19-8 run to close out the first half with a 38-27 lead.

Kavon James' three-pointer for the Hornets at 13:14 cut Ferrum's lead to 48-47, then James converted a layup one minute later to tie the score at 49-49. Taqwain Drummond knocked down a three-pointer, then made a layup to put Ferrum back out in front 54-49.

T.C. Thacker's layup at 8:10 tied the game at 56-56. Lynchburg then took its first lead of the game, 61-60 on Israel Lockery's layup at 4:43. Drummond made a layup, was fouled and converted the ensuing free throw 30 seconds later to put the Panthers back out in front, 63-61.

Jamar Butler's layup and free throw at 2:49 tied the game at 66-66., but Lynchburg used a 7-2 run down the stretch to close it out.
