GLEN ALLEN, Virginia -- The 2022 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women's Golf Championship concluded this afternoon at the par 72, 5678-yard Dominion Club. Ferrum College's Hunter Tharpe posted a top-15 finish in a field of 33 golfers.
Washington and Lee University won the team title and collected the league's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division III Tournament, to be held May 10-13 at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas.
THE BASICS
The Generals posted a three-day total 909, finishing 24 strokes better than runner-up University of Lynchburg (333). Bridgewater College finished third at 945.
Lynchburg's Emily Brubaker earned medalist with a 220, finishing four strokes ahead of Washington and Lee's Megan Kanaby (224) and Bridgewater's Sophia Martone (224). W&L's An Shelmire (228) and Bridgewater's Heather Donnelly (231) rounded out the top five individuals.
Ferrum's Hunter Tharpe finished tied for 14th place after carding a three-day 248. Tharpe's 248 score is a new 54-hole school record.
