FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College men's basketball opens up the new year with a matchup with nationally ranked #1 Hampden-Sydney College tomorrow, Wednesday January 3. The Old Dominion Athletic Conference tips-off at 7 p.m. in Swartz Gym. This game is free admission to the public, come out and support the Panthers!

 The Panthers are led by second-year head coach Patrick Corrigan. Corrigan's team currently leads the conference in scoring per game (85.2) and margin (+24.4) which is second in all of Division III, and fifth in points allowed per game (60.8). Ferrum is also leads the conference in made field goal percentage at (49.3) and opponent field goal percentage (35.7). Jikari Johnson leads the team in scoring with 18.4 ppg (3rd best in conference) and three others averaging double figures. Bryant Wall leads the conference in blocked shots with 27, with a school record 8 blocks against Roanoke College. Darwin Randolph is the leading rebounder on the team, averaging 7.8 a game and Tahli Oden is averaging a team high 5.4 assists. 

 The Tigers are coached by fifth-year head coach Caleb Kimbrough, who was last years ODAC Coach of the Year. Kimbrough's team is 3-1 against nationally ranked teams this season, with two of those wins coming against the #1 ranked team. H-SC is sixth in scoring offense and fourth in scoring defense in the conference. They are shooting (45.5%) from the field, 40.4% from beyond the arc averaging nine made three-pointers a game. Davidson Hubbard leads the Tigers in points (15.2) and rebounds (8.0) while shooting 50.7% from the field. H-SC was picked to win the conference in this years ODAC Preseason Poll.
