LYNCHBURG, Virginia -- The Ferrum College men;'s and women's track teams opened the 2-24-25 indoor season Friday, December 6, at the Liberty Kickoff Classic, held at Liberty Indoor Track Complex. In all, 13 men and four women competed in 10 events for the Panthers.

The Liberty Kickoff Classic field was loaded with NCAA Division I programs from across the region. Large schools that Ferrum's team participated against Duke University, Elon University, High Point University, Jacksonville State University, host Liberty University, Norfolk State University, Radford University, University of Richmond and University of Virginia.

FERRUM WOMEN
Jordan Booker, Emma Kelley and Zoie Wagner all ran the women's 60 meters for Ferrum, Booker leading the group with a time of 8.88 to finish 58th.

Kelley led a Panther trio that included Wagner and Ashtyn Bishop in the women's 200 meters, posting a 61st-place finish with her time of 30.86.

Bishop was Ferrum's lone competitor in the women's 400 meters, finishing 39th in a time of 1:15.48.

FERRUM MEN
Five Ferrum men competed in the men's 60 meter, with DaMauri McPherson posting the top finish at 53rd in a time of 7.27. Jordan Smith was one of six Panthers in the men's 200 meter, covering thew distance in a time of 23.33 to finish 48th. Darryl Taylor was Ferrum's lone runner in the men's 300, finishing 34th at 42.78.

Kayden Ryder, Josh Mills and Greyson Crouch competed on distance events for the Panthers. Ryder finished 13th in the men's 1000 meter, whild Mills and Crouch finished 38th and 40th, respectively, in the men's 3000 meter with 9:59.58 and 10:58.45 times.

The Panther men had one jumper and two throwers at Liberty as well. Kyle Holcomb threw the shot put 11.25 meters to finish 14th, while Jaylon Hillman went 8.53 meters to finish 16th. Jaiden Childress cleared 1.85 meters in the high jump.
