ELON, North Carolina– The Ferrum College men and women's track and field team had an impressive showing at the Phoenix Invitational, held at Elon University. The athletes displayed exceptional talent and determination across a range of events, setting personal records (PR) and achieving strong finishes.
Men's 100m:
- Jahmal Jones led the team with a time of 10.94 seconds in Heat 2, coming just shy of his PR with a time of 10.933 seconds. He continues to dominate in sprint events.
- Deontae Lawson finished in 11.42 seconds in Heat 3, despite strong headwinds of -1.6m/s.
- Senior DaMauri McPherson completed the race in 11.86 seconds, and Joseph Terry followed closely behind with a time of 11.89 seconds in Heat 7.
Women's 100m:
- Airiana Beverley clocked in at 13.84 seconds in Heat 4, marking a solid finish for the senior.
- Emma Kelley finished in 14.57 seconds, and Zoie Wagner posted a time of 16.22 seconds in Heat 7.

- Senior Kayden Ryder finished in 1:59.73 in Heat 1, showing strong endurance.

- The 'A' team, featuring N. Greene, J. Smith, D. McPherson, and J. Jones, ran a strong 43.96 seconds in Heat 1.
- The 'B' team, consisting of L. McClung, J. Terry, D. Taylor, and D. Lawson, clocked 44.82 seconds
The Panthers will be back in action next Friday, March 21 at the Mountaineer First Chance, held on the campus of Appalachian State in Boone, North Carolina.
