LYNCHBURG, Virginia -- Two members of the Ferrum College equestrian team competed at the Zone 4 Region 2 Regional horse show today; sophomore Ashley Cutliff and junior Abby McGuire.

This is the first show of the post season where riders work to continue moving towards qualifying for the IHSA National Championships, to be held in Tryon, North Carolina. Riders have to place in the top two of their class in order to move onto Zone finals. Cutcliff and McGuire both qualified for and competed in the regional competition today.

Abby McGuire competed in the Introductory on the Flat class today and took top honors, winning the class.  That secured her a spot to compete in the IHSA Zone 4 Finals coming up on April 5, 2025. Cutcliff had a great ride in the Novice Equitation on the Flat with a very competitive group of 12 riders.
