BLACKSBURG, Virginia -- Ferrum College's Abby McGuire competed today at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association's Zone IV Finals at Virginia Tech's Alphin-Stuart Livestock Teaching Arena.

A junior from Goodview, Virginia, McGuire placed second today in the Introductory Division to qualify for the IHSA National Championship next month. In order to qualify for IHSA Nationals, riders must place in the top two of their class/division.

The 2025 IHSA National Championship will be held Friday through Sunday, May 2-4, at Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, North Carolina.
