MILL SPRING, North Carolina -- Ferrum College's
Abby McGuire made her debut at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championships, placing in the top 10 in her event.
Competing in the Hunter Seat Individual Introductory Equitation class, McGuire placed 10th overall in a field of 16 riders. She is a junior from Goodview, Virginia.
Riders draw horses at random for the competition and do not have the ability to school the horses before competing on them. McGuire drew a horse from IHSA Region IV, which the Panthers compete in, with an advantage in knowing other Ferrum riders compete on the horse.
